The True Causes Behind Your Illness

What Is Meta-health & Why Should You Care?

Have you come across the term “meta-health”? It’s all about understanding how our body, mind, and social health are interconnected. Specifically, it looks at how certain stress triggers, emotions, and beliefs can affect specific organ symptoms.

When I work with clients, I always investigate what was happening in their lives before their health issue appeared. Health problems don’t just come out of nowhere or happen by bad luck; they’re symptoms of deeper issues.

Sometimes, the cause might be recent, like a bereavement, making the health issue an obvious response. Other times, it could be a buildup of behaviors, reactions, and past emotional wounds, which we refer to as trauma. This trauma can be significant, like accidents or abuse, or smaller, like difficult relationships, challenging childhoods, or tough work environments. Don’t underestimate the impact of a series of small traumas!

In reality, it’s true—everything begins in the subconscious brain and grows until we need to address it. This doesn’t mean the issue isn’t real. “Somatic” is Greek for body, so psychosomatic means mind-body!
